[FAQ 911014] How to let users subscribe
to the emailing list?
One for the many things that you have to do to make the eBlasting successful is
to get more people to signup for your mailings either directly from your email
or from your web site. To do so you need
to add some text (see fig 1) “If you wish to add yourself to our mailing list
please Click here”. Highlight “Click
here” and insert the following in the link “ntsnews@sbcglobal.net?subject=On-eBlast-List[Newsletter]&body=”Please
add my name to the eBlast Address List category Newsletter” using “Mail To” as
the type see fig 2. Note: The
ntsnews@sbcglobal.net email address should not be our email address but the
email address that you have used as “From Email Address” on the “Mailing Info”
tab and also used on the “POP3” tab in the Setup dialog box.
When the user clicks the “Click here” link an email (see fig 3) is
created and sent to eBlast. Before you do another mailing it is recommended to
use the Tool Managers “Sync Returns” button to ensure that the eBlast Address
Database is current with new subscriptions, un-subscriptions and incorrect
email address.
You can expand the “subject” from “subject=On-eBlast-List” to
“subject=On-eBlast-List[category]” or “subject=On-eBlast-List[category^category^category]”.
Where “category” is replaced with the category or groups of categories is used
in the eBlast Address Database.
Clearly if you have a way to subscribe you also need a way to un-subscribe.
